Mostly Wordless Wednesday... Lilac Festival

The lilacs were well past their peak this year, but the skies were blue and clear, the sun was warm, the company was delightful and the artichokes French were, as always, delicious...  Even in an off year, the Lilac Festival is still one of my favorites in a region known for a multitude of festivals.

I am soooo with you on the Lilac Festival. It was actually on our "top 10" list of reasons to move back to rochester (don't worry, you were on there, too!)

But, I just have to ask . . . . what were you doing wasting your time looking at flowers? (let alone photographing them?) When you could have been eating funnel cake, and fried dough, and more artichokes french, and that fudge that comes in the ice cream cone, and giant smoothies, and shopping at the craft booths . . . . I mean, let's focus on what the festival is really about. the lilacs are just an excuse for a festival of food!

I love lilacs! A whole festival devoted to them? That sounds wonderful!

My row of rather newly planted lilacs are on thier way out--but I did enjoy them while they lasted.

Oh those lilacs are nice!!! I was recently back in Ohio with family and had enough white ones in bloom to use them in the centerpieces for a baby shower. The room smelled wonderful!

Love these against the crystal clear sky :-)

Happy weekend,
jj
